Michigan House Update

Changes have been happening at our Port Austin home! So far we have two walls

gone, the kitchen gutted, the family room ceiling beams taken down, new drywall

put in and PAINT! Remodeling a house from 1,000 miles away is tough! Thanks

to Turmell's and Varner's for going and taking pictures. It has helped a lot!

Everything is scheduled to be done by the beginning of April.

Bubbles!

I have been wanting to get Bryn a bubble machine for a long time and

since all the spring/summer stuff is out down here I finally followed

through! I loved the commercial grade one that MyGym has at our

mommy and me classes, but thought I would be disappointed with

a store bought one. I was wrong!

She was so excited once the bubbles started coming!

Every where she turned, there they were!

I think that was a successful POP!

She was squealing and screaming! It was so cute!

Stopped in amazement. I was amazed too. The bubbles were all different

sizes and displayed pretty colors! Gazillion Bubbles Typhoon was a great buy!

Outside Fun

A few weeks ago Brian and I went out and bought Bryn a small outdoor playscape.

Ever since she got her rice table she has loved being outside. Since the

weather is perfect for being outside right now, we decided to give Marley

a break from being followed and get Bryn something to climb on!

Papa came over to help Mumma put it together since Dad was at work.

Bryn thinking she can help get the tools.

She seems to think that slides are both for climbing up and sliding down!

Bryn's 2012 version of a "boom box". My IPhone is in that toy and it is playing toddler tunes on Pandora radio. She stops to clap every time it plays "If You are Happy and You Know It"

She loves to play with the pool rafts...it's not warm enough to get in the water though!

A favorite spot for Bryn and Marley. They both like to be in the dirt hole together!

I haven't figured out yet how to get them to stop digging!

Well, she doesn't seem like a "girly girl"! And because of all this outside fun we have to have play clothes on when we go outside and quite often we get baths in the afternoon.

But she's worth it!

Sea World

We picked a great day to go to Sea World. It wasn't too crowded and we had great weather!

Casey and Ashli were in town and we all headed out! We got there and headed straight for the One World Shamu show.

Then while Brian, Casey, and Ashli went off to ride the roller coasters, Bryn

and I headed to see the Elmo and Abby show. It was quite cute.

Now that Bryn is not only walking, but practically running, she

is one BUSY girl! I call her my tornado because everywhere I

look she has left a disaster. And the minute I get one cleaned up,

she has moved on to create another. Gotta love her!

Bryn got a sand/water table for Christmas, but we filled it with rice.

She loves to put her hands in it and find buried treasure.

But in no time she is checking out the pool.

And she found the doggie door...feet first is not the best way!

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas season this year! Bryn was good with the tree, she only took a few ornaments off, and the presents that appeared before Christmas - she only tried to open Papa's! We visited Santa a few days before Christmas...

She enjoyed him from a distance but was not happy

when Mumma dropped her in his lap.

Thank you to Mrs. Claus. I am not sure what she said, but it got Bryn's attention.

And then she was ok....Santa on the other hand seems tired of unsure babies!

Dad's Birthday at Disney

Brian's friends, Brandon and Todd, decided to come into town with their families and go to Disney for a Christmas celebration. It just so happened that the day we all could go was also Brian's 31st birthday! Despite the crowds and three kids under 2, we had a GREAT day!

Bryn has been with us for an entire year! It actually seems like a long time ago that I was pregnant and was blessed with my baby girl. We were lucky to be able to celebrate her first year twice, once in Michigan and then in Florida.

Our Michigan party was with lots of friends and family. Bryn was able to play with four of her friends - all under two years! This means that we had lots of help opening presents :) And Bryn was so excited about digging into her cake that she used her foot first!

We flew home just in time to celebrate Bryn's actual birthday at home. We had dinner with family and round two for cake and ice cream. Bryn was better about opening presents and still liked the ice cream better than the cake...she gets that from her parents!

This past year has been wonderful and we look forward to the next...and next...and next!

Our Visit to Naples

This past weekend we went on a trip to Naples. We got into town late on Thursday night, but after a relaxing morning we headed to the zoo!

The giraffes were very cool. You could even feed them yourselves.

I think it is funny there was a big alligator exhibit since our hotel has signs by the lakes surrounding warning us not to feed the alligators and those are not fenced in!

most exciting were the fish in the pond outside the zoo!

Friday night and Saturday were busy spending time with Todd and Debbie Robinson and their new son, Cole. All that time together and we never took pictures! Big oops!

11 Months Old

Bryn is now 11 months old. At the end of this month she will be ONE!

She is still little, weighing in around 15 pounds (which means it only took

11 months to double her birth weight). She is crawling everywhere

and shows just a little interest in walking. Her Mumma is encouraging

the crawling for as long as possible...Dad is getting anxious for her steps to come.

It wasn't easy to get her to sit, look at me, and smile

When all she really wanted to do was crawl all over the bear!

She liked the bear so much that we are keeping it in her playroom!

Bryn had her very first Halloween. She made it to all of 3 houses :)

Pumpkins

When we were in Michigan we had to get pictures with some pumpkins as they

were growing in a garden. I cannot find one in Orlando. So we went to the Walter's

and found some pumpkins and pretty fall flowers. Thanks Craig and Rejo!

10 Months

Friday was Bryn's 10 month birthday. We took our monthly picture and Bryn was very cooperative! The Florida weather is great in October, but Bryn is still my sunshine :)

You would think that I posed her this way, but you can tell

by her knees that she had been doing some crawling!

My cousin Bethany got married to Charlie on September 17th. It was a

gorgeous day for an outdoor wedding! And Bethany looked stunning.

Doug and I had to get a picture with our girls. Doug and I are 2 months apart and our girls, Bryn and Olivia are 3 1/2 months apart. It is too bad we live so far away!

I had to get a shot of Bryn with the bride. Bryn has liked Beth from the day

they met and on her wedding day, the necklace secured it!

Friends is now on Nick at Night. I am excited that it is on more often, but it makes me

feel old! When I was little, Nick at Night consisted of "I Love Lucy" and "The Mary Tyler

Moore Show" and "The Dick VanDyke Show" and some of those were black and white.

I'm not even 30 yet and my favorite show of all time has now replaced these classics!?!

I am not sure how I feel about this...

College Football has begun!

One of Bryn's baby gifts was this onesie. It turned out to be the perfect size for her now that college football season has begun. This might be what she wears every Saturday so cheer on both the Spartans and the Seminoles! Go State!

Bryn turned 9 months old this past week! Now that we are back in Florida we get to take pictures with the bear again. Before we left, taking our monthly photos was difficult because Bryn wasn't sitting up on her own. Now the pictures are difficult because she is mobile and is always on the go! It is amazing how much she has developed in two months.

The Booms family was together for about a week at the end of July through the beginning of August. We had great weather for our first 4th of July celebration. We were happy to have lots of company at our house throughout the holiday weekend.

7 Months

Bryn turned 7 months and although I feel like she has been with me forever, I also do not know where the time has gone! We are now in Michigan for the summer and have left her big bear back in Florida so our marker for growth in Michigan will be this adirondack chair.

It is SO much easier to sit up when she has an angled seat and something to lean against!

6 Months

We did our 6 month photo shoot right on her 6 month birthday! Just the night before we were at a friend's house for dinner and her five year old son was playing with Bryn. He was trying to figure out how old she was. We kept telling him 6 months, but being as he celebrates everything in years, he couldn't figure out how she was "6" and he was "5". In the end he said, "So, she is just a plain baby. Not one, not two, just plain." Too stinkin' cute!

Bryn is still really little, weighing in at a whopping 12 lbs 5 oz. We've just started venturing into her 3-6 month clothing, but we have gotten LOTS of use out of her 0-3 and 3 month stuff!

Viva Las Vegas!

This year Brian's MetLife trip was to Vegas. Bryn came on her 3rd trip by plane and was extremely well behaved. She got many compliments throughout the week! And we got to spend a Mother-Daughter day while Dad was in meetings!

This is how we do it! I guess it is naptime on the strip!

First stop - MGM Grand to see the lions in their "natural" habitat.

Bryn might be more interested in people watching...

As we were waiting for the water fountain show at the Bellagio we ran into Michael Jackson and had to get our picture taken. Bryn doesn't understand what a treat this is but one day she will know the moves to "Thriller", "Beat It", and "Smooth Criminal" just to name a few. (Heather and Cheryl, I am requesting lessons in the DeCourval basement, and I might need Cruz to do the guest appearance for the Ghostbuster songs thrown in!)

The first night was a Sheryl Crow concert at the pool of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

It was cold and windy and Bryn was tired from the time change.

Between Bryn's 4th and 5th month doctor visits, she lost weight (that's what mom is supposed to do, not baby girl)! She went from 12lbs 2 oz to 11lbs 12 oz, then 2 weeks later she was back to an even 12lbs. Although she will probably be petite (we are not surprised) we are trying to put some more weight on her, so we are venturing out into solids - avocado for the good fat and apple to help her poop! Here are some of the pictures of her first few feedings!

5 Months and Mother's Day

So I am doing ok with taking the pictures on time (between the 30th and the 5th of the month), but posting them I've been behind. I asked my friends to remind me when it has been too

long between posts and I got that reminder today from my friend Becky. Thanks Beck! So, here are a few of Bryn's 5 month pictures. She is still SO hard to get to sit and look at the camera and after 94 quick shutter pics, this is the best we've got!

My sister was able to fly down for Mother's Day, so after church and breakfast with the Booms and Flanagan families my mom, my sister, Bryn and I headed out for a girls day out.

We hope everyone had a great Easter! Bryn was happy as usual!

I was worried that her Easter pajamas wouldn't fit for the holiday, but she has remained so little - she is still under 12 pounds at 5 months old- that she was able to wear them! We are working on putting meat on her bones!

Bryn's Easter basket was her mom's growing up. She got a lot of toys

from the Easter bunny (and her Gamma) but she played with them all early!

Bryn is 4 1/2 months old and we took some pictures at 4 months. It is

almost getting harder to get her to sit as she is moving around so much.

March is leaving Florida with severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings. Our power was knocked out yesterday afternoon and did not return until the middle of the night. Fortunately we were having an all grill meal anyway and it was nice enough to eat outside!

Luckily the weekend before was beautiful and we took advantage

of the sun and our (almost) warm pool.

Bryn tolerates her hat because she does not like the sun in her eyes!

MetLife Blimp

Brian and I got to take Bryn to see the MetLife blimp - Snoopy One. We met

some other MetLife employees there. We got to go in it, but didn't get to

take it for a ride like Brian did when he was a kid.

Our Trip to Michigan

We took Bryn on her first trip to Michigan. We wanted to check on

our new house and visit friends and family. She was so good on the plane!

She had a "snowsuit" but is definitely a Florida girl because when

the cold air first hit her face she would gasp and become stiff!

We stayed with Varner's as my parent's house was winterized.

They certainly seemed to love having a baby around!

We visited with my Grandma Booms and got a four generation

picture with Bryn, me, my Dad, and my Grandma.

We visited the girls at Northstar Bank, Dave and Anita DeCourval, and

the Volmering Family...I was not good at taking pictures for those visits!

The next morning we had breakfast with the Cubitt and Brining family.

I am so excited to have this next generation grow up together. There is

only about 5 months between each kid!

We then had a wonderful dinner with Turmells, Varners, and Youngs.

It was fun to be with Megan and AJ since AJ and Bryn are only 3 weeks apart.

And the grandparents are SO proud!

With all those visitors it is amazing that I got some time with my baby girl!

But we love snuggling and playing pat-a-cake

On the way back to the airport we stopped at Lucky's to have lunch with my

Uncle Dan, Aunt Carol and Aunt Ann. Once we had full bellies, we got

some smiles and giggles in the car on the way to the airport.

Can't wait to come back...when it is a little warmer!

Bryn is growing up so much but still needs the extra support of a

She is very smiley but gets too focused on the camera to

Michaella came into town to visit Bryn.

We had a lot of fun together and we all got adjusted!

We went to visit Michaella's Aunt Michele who surprised me with a gift.

I was so excited when I opened it! She took the bear from my thank you

notes and my nursery wall and created a pattern for a blanket. It is SO

special and beautiful and everyone who sees it is amazed.

2 months

Bryn is already 2 months old!

When we took her to the doctor for her 6 week check up, we were told she is petite so far. Shocking! :) She was in the 36th percentile for height and 28th percentile for weight. I guess that is why she is 8 weeks old and still in most of her newborn clothes.

Christmas and Baptism

We had professional pictures taken of Bryn when she was one week old. She wasn't very cooperative at first but we finally got some good ones. Thanks Melody for the great memories!

In the season of Buddy the Elf where smiling is his favorite (I haven't caught a gas bubble smile on camera yet) I do think Bryn's favorite is sleeping. She'll sleep just about anywhere!

Bryn just after being born and me just after being born. Bryn seems to have my eyes, nose and hair (even though you cannot see it under the hat) and Brian's mouth and chin. Let's see whose temperament and attitude she gets!

I woke up at 2am, got to the hospital at 4:15am and was already dilated to 9cm. After less than 30 minutes of pushing, Bryn was born at 5:27am.

Bryn Leahy (pronounced lay-he) loved to be wrapped up like a burrito. We loved the little feet imprints in the bottom of the blanket!

We brought her home (in the same outfit I was brought home from the hospital in 28 years ago) and we let Marley meet her. He was very interested in her new baby smell. Marley has been a great dog ever since and loves to give Bryn a good morning kiss each day.

She loves to have her hands by her face, loves to be held, is a good eater and sleeper so far, looks like both mom and dad, and I cannot believe that she is mine!
